I recently acquired this tractor from it's second owner, and it's obviously been stored indoors. It appears to be in excelllent condition, with only normal wear-and-tear. It is completely straight, and has no significant rust that I can find. Powered by a 20 HP Onan twin-cylinder engine, the functioniong hour meter shows just over 650 hours. This tractor features the "forward-swept" front axle that will allow it to carry a 60" cutting deck. Includes chrome wheel covers. Headlights, tailights and all guages work. The high-back seat features arm rests, and is easily adjustable forward/back. Uses the standard Wheel Horse "Tach-a-matic" system and "mule drive" for quick-release and mounting of attachments. Battery is strong.
This tractor carries a heavy-duty steel 48" Wheel Horse deck. The deck is missing some paint in a few spots on the top, but it is rock-solid, spins freely, and like the tractor, has no significant rust. All 3 blades were recently replaced. I have mowed with this unit and it cuts beautifully.
The only known issues I have discovered are minor, and are listed here (I have included photos below): 1) Slight tear on the seat, 2) Some blemishes on the hood (looks like something spilled on the hood at some point), 3) Missing floorboard cover (left side), 4) The translucent "label" over the dashboard warning lights needs to be glued down, 5) Small dent in the left-rear chrome wheel cover, and 6) The light socket behind the power/vacuum guage is broken. (Also, FYI...the cover that goes over the "mule drive" pulleys is missing in these photos, but I do have it and will install it before sale.)
If you know Wheel Horses, I don't need to tell you what a beast this is. If you are not familiar with the Wheel Horse brand, understand that this is not your run-of-the-mill Home Depot/Lowes/Sears lawn tractor. They don't make them like this any more. This tractor not only mows, but it can also accommodate a wide variety of attachments, including a Snow Blade or Plow, or "powered" attachements (using the tractor's PTO) like Roto-tillers, Snow Blowers, generators, etc. Parts are readily available from Toro and/or aftermarket suppliers, and on e-Bay, Craigslist, etc.
This tractor is the real deal.
Please Note: About once every six months I get contacted by someone who wants to purchase this tractor. I'm not sure why this happens, since I have no direct links to this page, and the first line of the page clearly states this item was sold years ago. Perhaps some aggregate search bot is sending people here? I've gotten calls that people saw it on Craigslist, Ebay...you name it. Anyway, just to be clear, as stated above this item sold in April of 2010. I don't have it. If it's for sale somewhere, I don't have anything to do with it!
Having said that, if you are reading this, you must be searching for a Wheel Horse which means we have something in common, so I wish you best of luck in your search! Have a great day. CB, April 2013
